- GBBF
Friday 8 August 2025
The Great British Beer Festival is being held this year at the NEC 5-9th August 2025. At the last branch meeting it was agreed to support the GBBF with people making their own arrangements for tickets and travel but try and coordinate individual plans around Friday the 8th August to give a branch social event feel, if you are planning to go let John know your plans to enable a meet up at the festival ku.gro.armac.yrubsekwet@riahc
Hopefully the information below will help you with thoughts and planning. The website is HTTPS://greatbritishbeerfestival.co.uk and hopefully the link works Great British Beer Festival | Home. Tickets for general admission are £16.00 but £6.00 for CAMRA members ( membership cards will be checked) a group offer of 5 for 4 also exists at £64.00, only making financial sense if a non CAMRA group. Birmingham International Station is right next to the NEC which should help with travel arrangements. Currently the National Rail enquires are only showing their timetable up to mid-June so specifics can’t be looked at travel from Ashchurch for Tewkesbury to Birmingham International.
Currently the cost of a return on the train would be @£34.00 changing at Cheltenham and Birmingham New Street. This is before any discount for railcards our group travel, the details below are from the National Rail enquiries website.
GroupSave – discounts for groups of 3 to 9 If you’re a group of 3 to 9 adults, you can get a 1/3 discount on Off-Peak tickets with GroupSave. Not a bad deal! Also, you don’t need to purchase a Railcard to get the GroupSave discount. In order to get GroupSave discounts, you must travel together at all times. You cannot combine GroupSave with other discounts, and there are certain days when GroupSave cannot be used on selected services, and with some train

Chris Bowley will have an excellent selection of Ales/Ciders wines etc to tickle your taste buds and Pete Adams and Sean Gunston will be in charge of the cooking as they did last year (and what a fabulous job they did).
A deposit of £10 per person is required to enable us to establish numbers for the food and Beers etc.
TWAF volunteers will get the £10 refunded on the day to spend on Ale either by cash or drink tokens, Non Volunteers will not get a refund.
The Deposit must be posted through Justin's Door (house is Number 17 Barton Mews. The house nearest the hospital) in an envelope with your Name(s) and summer BBQ clearly written on the envelope so we know who has paid and don't confuse the booking with our Black Country Social trip in early July, also please send an E Mail to Justin confirming you have paid for the BBQ and if you have any special dietary requirements please let us know in your confirmation E mail
ku.gro.armac.yrubsekwet@sreetnulovFAWT.
Hope this all makes sense and get your deposits paid asap to enable us to get the numbers.
If you know a Member/Volunteer who does not have e mail please let them know asap so they don't miss out on what I'm sure will be a great day.

Agenda to follow
Regional CAMRA Events
Here are some other CAMRA events taking place in our region.
- Stratford Beer and Cider festival 2025.
Friday 6 – Saturday 7 June 2025
Beer Festival
Stratford Beer and Cider festival 2025.
All are welcome to the 17th Stratford-Upon-Avon Beer and Cider Festival at Stratford Racecourse. Entry is £10 in advance and £12 on the door. The entrance package is £5 of drink tokens, a non-refundable glass and a souvenir programme. Current CAMRA members also receive a free half pint of beer or cider. Opening times are Friday 12 noon until 11pm, and Saturday 11am until 10pm, or when the beer runs out. We anticipate up to 50 cask beers and 20 ciders. Live music on Saturday afternoon. Food vendors will also be on site both days. Dogs welcome.
Advance tickets - https://tckty.camra.org.uk/.../stratford-upon-avon-17th.
Beers and ciders have been chosen from near and far. Currently, some of the “highlights” are two commemorative beers from Uley brewery who are celebrating their 40th birthday. Limited edition beers from Butcombe along with the Hung, Drawn and Port from the excellent local brewery, North Cotswolds, which has four bottles of Port added to each cask of beer. A full list should soon appear on our Facebook pages.

Travelling to and staying at the Racecourse.
We intend to run a free shuttle bus between Stratford-upon-Avon Railway Station and the festival venue, aligning with train arrival times. This will be on a first come first served basis. If coming from the Evesham area, we believe that it is bus number 28 which will take you to the top of the road with a short walk then down to the Racecourse itself.
Camping spaces are currently available. With it being a commercial site with full toilet and showering facilities, all camping is handled by Stratford Touring Site, not the Beer Festival, so please can you contact them directly. https://www.stratfordtouringpark.com/
