Campaign for Real Ale

Pub of the month January

Each month, Tewkesbury CAMRA will recommend to you a pub in our area which we think is worth a visit. We will try and tell you which real ales they have on offer and link you to their own website if they have one! This Month, we are recommending The Royal Exchange, Hartpury, Gloucester Road, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, GL19 3BW

About the Pub

Situated in Hartpury on the A417 between Gloucester and Ledbury, The Royal Exchange is a lovely country pub where you can while away the time eating and drinking with your friends. Warm yourself next to the log burner or enjoy the amazing views from our heated decked area.

The Royal Exchange was established in around 1855 and is situated on the site where it is said, Cavalier and Roundhead prisoners were exchanged during the English Civil War, hence the pub’s name!

The pub which is now a Freehouse, changed hands in 2012 and belongs to a local farming family who have lived and worked in the area for over 90 years.
