  • Cider & Sausage Night Friday 27 September 2019 Jolter Press Cider

    Jolter Press Cider are having a Cider & Sausage Night with Entertainment on the 27th September, if enough people are interested then we will arrange a Bill Bus.

    Timings to be finalised, but likely to be leave Black Bear at 630pm ish and return 1130 pm ish.

  • Pub History Society tour Saturday 12 October 2019 Various Pubs

    PHS Tewkesbury Tour When: 12.00 midday on Saturday 12 October

    Where: The Cross House Tavern, 155 High St, Tewkesbury GL20 5AB

    Please note that as space is limited in the backroom of The Cross House Tavern, seating priority will be given to Pub History Society members. There will be an introductory talk from local historian Steve Goodchild, followed by a tour of the town.

    Tewkesbury CAMRA have produced an I Was Once A Pub leaflet https://tewkesbury.camra.org.uk/viewnode.php?id=50681 alongside a current guide to local pubs. The Cross House Tavern doesn't feature on the 'current' guide, as it only opened very recently.

    THE BIG APPLE, MUCH MARCLE Herefordshire's Cider Event of the Year

    Sunday 13 October 2019

    Leave Black Bear at 10.30 a.m. and arrive back at 4.30 p.m.

    "Join us for the 30th anniversary of the Big Apple celebrating English apples and cider – a real opportunity to enjoy the autumn countryside in this corner of Herefordshire in and around Much Marcle.

    In this unique event, we will be opening our farms and orchards, cider mills and barns for you to visit. Nine special venues in all, each one of them different but all with one thing in common – apples!"

  • Branch Business Meeting Thursday 7 November 2019 Royal British Legion Club, Tewkesbury

    Our next business meeting will be at the Royal British legion on Thursday 7th November 2019 at 8pm.

    The agenda will cover all the usual items

    The Annual Xmas Bash at the British Legion will be held on Thursday the 19th December this year, Kick off is at 19:30 until late.

  • TWAF 2020 Thursday 6 – Saturday 8 February 2020 Watson Hall, Tewkesbury

    TWAF 2020 The increasingly popular Tewkesbury Winter Ale Festival will be again held at the George Watson Hall on the 6th to the 8th Feb 2020 (Thu-Sat).

    This is the 25th Tewkesbury Winter Ales Festival and will have 80 Winter Ales plus local cider and perry. Watch this space for updates as the planning begins in the Autumn.
